Our Approach To Weight Loss Surgery

Your decision to have weight loss surgery is a tough one. We understand that you will have many questions and concerns and a mixture of fear and excitement of how it can impact your life.  At Angeles Health, we are here to help make that decision a little easier.

We have four specific stages to the process:-

1. Pre Surgery

You will need to complete a thorough weight loss medical questionnaire which will help us ascertain if you are suitable for the surgery. You will also get a free consultation with the doctor.  Prior to the surgery, you will also need to complete a psychological review to ensure you are mentally prepared and suitable for the procedure as well.

2. The Procedure

Your procedure will be completed by Dr Juan Lopez Corvola, considered to be among the top ten weight-loss surgeons in the world. He has performed more than 5,000 laparoscopic surgeries, 1,500 of those gastric band surgeries. He currently is a staff member at Hospital Angeles, Tijuana. Dr Corvola is supported by a team of doctors including nutritional specialist.

3. After Care in the Hospital

After the procedure you will be treated as an in patient in a private hospital room, and be able to speak with the surgeon who will check on you regularly to make sure the procedure has gone as expected. You will also spend time with the nutritional specialists who will talk you through the dietary requirements and aftercare. You will be given full aftercare documentation before you are discharged from the hospital.

4. After care at home

Once you are signed off as ‘fit to fly’ home, your care doesn’t stop there. We are committed to continuing to support you and provide advice to you as part of your free 12 month follow up program.
